Alicia Witt was a musician from her earliest onscreen days, even if she's better recognized as an actor, composer, musician or singer. Her 2009 eponymous release, released after she had mainly worked as pianist, showed her obvious debt to Elton John. Revisionary History (produced by Ben Folds) was her first studio album in 2015. The album was followed by other releases such as 2021's The Conduit, which marked her debut as co-producer. Alicia Witt first appeared onscreen in 1984 when she played Alia Atreides in David Lynch's adaptation Frank Herbert's Dune. Even though she was just ten at the time and it's not surprising that she was categorized as being an actor and not a singer, in spite of having played piano since her first acting experience. In fact, she played onscreen more frequently than she was recorded. She returned on screen for Lynch in a 1990 episode of Twin Peaks and then regularly appearing in films and television over the next twenty years, finally breaking the mold in 1995 with her film Mr.
